SCIENCESCAPE: TechCrunch reports that Toronto-based Sciencescape, which helps students and researchers discover and organize academic research, has closed a $2.5 million round led by iGan Partners. (The round was oversubscribed and the founders are considering expanding it to $3 million.) The platform provides users a stream of new papers (2,000 are published everyday) relevant to their work and interests. The startup has also partnered with global academic publisher, Elsevier, which will give Sciencescape users access to 11 million articles.
