Houston ISD Joins the Digital Conversion List

SOUTHERN LIVING: The Houston Chronicle reported this week that the Houston Independent School District (HISD) will distribute approximately 18,000 laptops to students at 1/4 of HISD high schools by the end of January. Nearby Clear Creek ISD will also deploy about 6,000 tablets to its 9th and 10th graders. In the wake of scrapped or delayed deployments in Los Angeles, Fort Bend, and Guilford, NC, HISD's CTO Lenny Schad told the Houston Chronicle, "This project is not going to go without bumps. But I'm confident when those bumps do occur, we're going to be able to react very quickly and move forward."
