TIP OF THE HESS-BERG: Yesterday, Rick Hess unveiled his Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings. University scholars gained points based on such criteria as Amazon book ranking, blog mentions, and newspaper listings. (Klout scores added points too, though only 46 of the 200 represented scholars have a Twitter). At the top of the Edu-Scholar list are Linda-Darling Hammond and Diane Ravitch. In terms of university-wide representation, Stanford provides the highest number of top 40 scholars, with 11 educators on the list.
