Coursera Adds $20M to Series B Round

Nov 22, 2013

COURSERA: An additional $20 million to the Mountain View, CA-based MOOC juggernaut that brings its Series B total, first announced in July, to $63 million. This latest funding comes from three current university partners (which Coursera declined to disclose), along with existing investors GSV Capital and Learn Capital. According to AllThingsD, this appended total was attributed to the "long due diligence processes" by the three schools. Coursera currently boasts 5.5 million users and 700 professors from over 100 schools in 19 countries. While the press release says the money will go towards expanding partnerships with universities, the Silicon Valley Biz Journal reports Coursera is also working with companies like Yahoo to provide corporate training programs.
