LITTLEBITS: A cool $11 million to New York-based startup that builds snappable electronics modules for kids. The round was led by True Ventures and Foundry Group. New to the round were Two Sigma Ventures and Vegas Tech Fund. Khosla Ventures, Mena Ventures, Neoteny Labs, O’Reilly AlphaTech, and Lerer Ventures also took part. LittleBits raised Series A last July. In total, the company has raised $15 million. CEO Ayah Bdeir tells VentureBeat that she wants to make the company a platform for other hardware makers. Much like 3D printers allow people to prototype things they design, she hopes littleBits can do the same for electronics.
