PAY DAY FOR PD: $1 million grant to Oakland-based charter school operator Aspire Public Schools from Tipping Point, a SF philanthropic organization aimed at fighting poverty. The funding help support Aspire's teacher and principal development, and college readiness work. Currently, Aspire serves 13,500 students across California and two in Memphis, TN.
