Makerbot's Campaign to Put a 3-D Printer in Every U.S. Classroom

Nov 12, 2013

MADE IN THE USA: Makerbot, creator of 3D printers that start at $2199, launched a campaign "to put a MakerBot Desktop 3D Printer in every school in the United States of America." Makerbot is partnering with DonorsChoose.org, where people are encouraged to donate money to teachers who have submitted project requests for 3D printers. (Teachers, get started here.) The partnership was inspired by Prez Obama's call to bring manufacturing know-how back into the classroom. One of the first things teachers and students could make: school supplies.
