Automattic Acquires LearnBoost Team

Sep 25, 2013

CLOUDUP: The company behind (and formerly known as) LearnBoost has been acquired by Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com. According to TechCrunch, the Cloudup team "will focus on revamping the post editor and replacing WordPress.com's media library with Cloudup." This announcement comes less than three months after the LearnBoost team rebranded itself as Cloudup and pivoted to a file sharing service that had 10,000 users. Back on the Learnboost blog, CEO Thianh Lu assured users that nothing is changing and it's "business as usual" for LearnBoost's gradebook, lesson planning and reporting tool.
