Udacity Gets a President

Jun 15, 2013

UDACITY GETS A PREZ: Udacity is growing up: Vish Makhijani has joined to be president and chief operating office. Makhijani has a long Silicon Valley history and knows something about growing companies. Among his gigs, Makhijani spent almost five years at Yahoo, ultimately running ran the Yahoo Search Group and leaving in July 2008. He created the Silicon Valley presence of Russian search engine company, Yandex. He joined Zynga and become chief operating officer (and negotiated the gaming company's first contract with Facebook). In this blog post, he says he's joining Udacity because:

"As I stare into the future for my child, I worry that he, and others like him, will be handed an antiquated experience that will ill prepare him for a life of fulfillment and economic self-sustainability. I owe him something more."
