Knewton Set to "Power" K-12 Content from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Jun 8, 2013

ADAPTATION: Knewton's got tons of content to play tag with. The New York-based company announced a partnership to bring its adaptive technology to K-12 content from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. It will start tagging HMH's GO Math! title to create a companion product, Personal Math Trainer Powered by Knewton, which will be rolled out in Fall 2013. (Other subjects will follow.) Knewton's metatags are designed to collect data about how the learner has interacted with each piece of content, and feed into an algorithm that assesses how well he or she has grasped the material. This marks Knewton's second major partnership with publishers in as many months, having announced a similar deal with Macmillan in May.
