Managing Timeframes as an Edtech Startup

Managing Timeframes as an Edtech Startup

May 6, 2013

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME...Or time will waste you. That's the mantra for any startup--especially in edtech. And with limited resources at their disposal, sometimes it makes sense to partner with the big boys for help with things like distribution. The challenge arises, however, when the two operate on different timeframes, especially since larger companies tend to have more time (and cash) to burn. "Startups can be overly zealous...for the many potential upsides the relationship may bring," warns edtech entrepreneur Harris Goodman, Director of Sales and Biz Dev at Late Nite Labs, (acquired by Macmillan New Ventures in March). He offers some handy advice in Forbes on how his own startup dealt with adjusting to corporate time and "scope-creep."
