Open English Nabs $65M Series D

OPEN ENGLISH: $65 million to Coconut Grove, FL-based Open English in Series D round led by Technology Crossover Ventures, with existing investors Insight Venture Partners and Redpoint Ventures participating. Founded in 2006, the company offers an online English-language school for Spanish and Portuguese speakers in the Americas. As part of the announcement, Open English boasts over 100,000 students for its twelve-month course. The company's firing quick rounds, having just scored a $43 million Series C less than a year ago.
