EdSurge Wins Award For Building Community at the GSV Education Innovation Summit

EdSurge, a leader in delivering top quality information on education technology, has won the "Accelerator" category in the inaugural Return on Education (ROE) Innovation Awards at the ASU/GVS Education Innovation Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The award was voted on by a group of more than 1,500 educators, industry leaders, visionaries, entrepreneurs and investors. The other finalists in the category included Imagine K12, 4.0 Schools, Common Sense Media and Learning Technology Media Labs. Here's a list of other other categories and finalists.

EdSurge was named an ROE award winner based upon its demonstrated ability to:

  • Dramatically improving learning outcomes;
  • Providing substantial leverage to learning leaders (teachers, professors, self-learners);
  • Significantly increasing access to education; and/or
  • Greatly reducing the cost for learners and/or learning institutions.

"We are thrilled to receive this award and recognition for the work that we've done over the past two years to chronicle the emerging education technology ecosystem," said Betsy Corcoran, chief executive and cofounder of EdSurge. "Through our news coverage and our growing collection of reports on education technology products, EdSurge is helping both those who use and build education technology better understand how this work can support students everywhere. Getting this recognition from the community is incredibly meaningful."
