LearnZillion Scores $7M to Expand Platform for Common Core Materials

LEARNZILLION: $7 million to LearnZillion in Series A round led by DCM, with O'Reilly Alpha Tech Ventures, Calvert Social Investment Fund, NewSchools Venture Fund, D.C. Community Ventures, and others participating. On top of a $2.4 million seed round back in March 2012, the Washington, DC-based startup has now raised a total of $9.4 million. Founded in 2011, LearnZillion now boasts over 120,000 teachers and 1.4 million students on its online platform that houses thousands of Common Core-aligned lessons created by its "Dream Team" of experienced teachers.
