Girls Who Code Scores $435K from Knight Foundation to Expand to Detroit, San Jose, Miami

GIRLS WHO CODE: $435K to NY-based nonprofit, Girls Who Code, from the Knight Foundation, reports The Next Web. Launched in 2012, Girls Who Code is dedicated to equipping 13- to 17-year-old girls with skills and opportunities in tech and engineering, through classes that cover robotics, web design and mobile development. This funding will support the expansion of program to Detroit and San Jose this summer, with Miami slated to launch in 2014. Girls Who Code has also received support from big-name companies like Google and Twitter last year. More info in the press release.
