Socrative Scores $750K Seed Round

SOCRATIVE: $750K to Boston, MA-based Socrative in seed round from True Ventures, NewSchools Venture Fund, and angel investors such as Jean Hammond and Eileen Rudden (both of whom run Boston's edtech accelerator, LearnLaunch). Founded in 2010, Socrative offers a mobile and web-based student response system that allows teachers to deliver game-like exercises, exit tickets and quizzes. The startup was part of Imagine K12's Winter 2012 cohort. Co-founder Benjamin Berte shared that for the 2012-13 school year, the company counted 3.2 million teacher and students users, 278K quizzes, and 116 million questions answered.
