McGraw-Hill Acquires Adaptive Math Platform, ALEKS

ALEKS: Accquired by McGraw-Hill Education, reports the Wall Street Journal. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. This marks McGraw-Hill Education's first deal since it was recently acquired by private equity firm, Apollo Global Management, LLC. Founded in 1996 by researchers at the University of California, Irvine, ALEKS offered one of the early "adaptive" math platforms for K-12 and higher education. According to the press release, McGraw-Hill has been helping to market ALEKS in higher education for over ten years. It will continue selling ALEKS as a standalone product, as well integrating its content on its own adaptive learning platforms.
