Rocketship Education

Rocketship, based in San Jose, Calif., is a network of charter K-5 schools focused on individualized learning.

Rocketship is a chain of free, public K-5 college prep K-5 charter schools. It was founded in 2006, and based in San Jose, Calif.

As of 2012, Rocketship operated five schools in the San Jose region and averaged around 450 students per school.

Approximately 90% of students qualify for free lunch; about 75% speak English as a second language. The program's motto: "At Rocketship, we believe that every child deserves an excellent education, that every child can attend a four-year college, and that the path to college starts in kindergarten."
