Oklahoma City Public Schools serves about 43,000 students in grades K-12, through 55 neighborhood elementary schools, 17 secondary schools, 4 special centers, and 13 charter schools.
The student population includes 3% Asian, 5% Native American, 20% Caucasian, 27% African American, and 45% Hispanic individuals. In addition, 13% of students have disabilities or special needs and 28% of students are English Language Learners. The district employs 4,600 administrators, teachers, and support personnel.
