One of the largest school districts in Los Angeles County. It includes 35,000 K-12 students and 30,000 adult learners. The district includes: 18 elementary schools, six intermediate schools, four high schools and four adult schools. It is located 15 minutes from downtown Los Angeles and serves a diverse population: approximately 92% of MUSD students are Hispanic, 4% are Asian or Pacific Islanders, 3% are Caucasian. Approximately 50% of the students are English Language Learners; 81% qualify for free or reduced lunches.
