WELDING EDUCATION: Weld North Holdings LLC has acquired Editure Professional Development Inc. and JBHM Education Group, according to PEHub. It intends to merge the two to form a national organization that will provide consulting services for K-12 schools, which reportedly includes "Common Core Standards, utilization of technology in the classroom, school turnaround, and teacher effectiveness." Both companies offer PD services for schools and teachers for tech integration. Weld North has strong Kaplan roots; its co-founder, Jonathan Grayer, was former CEO at Kaplan. And it will send along Managing Director Justin Serrano (former president of Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions and SCORE!) to serve as CEO of this new, yet-to-be-named organization. Weld North acquired Education2020 earlier this year.
