VC U: Kleiner Perkins' John Doerr is supporting education at Stanford as well as taking a seat on the board of Coursera (see below). Meanwhile, the ebullient Tim Draper, of Draper Fisher Jurvetson, is gearing up to start his very own university of the same name, Draper U, in San Mateo. It will kick off a four-week pilot program in June with 20-30 students, according to local news reports. Those students are in for an experience, with Draper, who even penned the lyrics to his very own theme song, "The Riskmaster." Money quote from Draper: "My hope is that aliens get a hold of my DNA so my clones can spread entrepreneurship to galaxies throughout the universe." (His DNA is strong stuff: check out his daughter, Jesse's Webcast TV show, "Valley Girl.")
