UNDERSTANDING LANGUAGE: Stanford has just launched an “Understanding Language” Initiative designed to help teachers integrate the new Common Core Standards into English Language Learner instruction. In its current phase, the site offers a series of papers focusing on the “shifts, challenges, and opportunities found in the new Standards.” Be sure to bookmark this -- the second and third phases will highlight effective teaching practices and offer OER for ELL teachers.
