The $3 Billion School Supply Bill Paid by Teachers

Sep 12, 2012

INFOSHOCKER: Painful infographic here calculating how much U.S. teachers fork out for school supplies. If there are 6.4 million teachers, each spending $480 apiece on supplies, the tab tops $3 billion. About half those teachers work in grades K through 12. The graphic was created by the folks who brought us "Waiting for Superman" and other media. They hope to spur donations for teachers via DonorsChoose.org by spotlighting different classrooms in need on their Great Back-to-School Challenge page. Nice to see keeping cash in teachers' pockets by disrupting the school supply list -- Kleenex anyone?
