CS BOOM? Geekwire calls our attention to a presentation (PDF) from two CS professors about the increase in the number of incoming college freshman who have chosen to major in computer science. This spike isn't just at the introductory CS101 level, either: Class sizes for upper division courses are "going through the roof," say the researchers, leading them to surmise that
"Possibly, students are figuring out that fields from Anthropology to Zoology are becoming information fields, and that those who can bend the power of the computer to their will...will be positioned for greater success than those who can't."
