TAKING IT TO THE PEEPS: That Aneesh Chopra is a serious populist dude. Earlier this year, we wrote about how he barnstormed across America, quizzing entrepreneurs and others about how to improve government's support of innovation in education, health care and energy. Now he's putting his queries to Quora. You can put in your two cents here to what can the government do to best enable the use of new learning technologies? The Obama administration says it will make available $2 billion in cash and service to startups to try to help young companies get through the "Valley of Death." Sounds like $1 billion will go to early stage venture capital investors, who pony up matching funds, and then make seed investments in several categories of startups (including edtech). You can lodge an official comment on the government's plan here until February 7, 2012. The plan is expected to go into action in the spring. When could those dollars actually reach startups? Stay tuned. We're on the case.
