SMASHING SUCCESS: What happens when you immerse students in technology instruction and provide a platform for them to give voice to what they’re learning? For starters, try these 40+ mini-blogs chronicling a variety of learning experiences and personal reflections. Smashcast is the Communications and Social Technology (CAST) program of the Summer Math and Science Honors (SMASH Academy). The program is a year-round technology course for high school students of color with demonstrated interests in STEM-related fields, and equips them with technical proficiencies to compete in college-level courses in computer science, design, and digital media. Students are also provided opportunities to engage with professionals and gain real-world experience.
Drop by the DIY pavilion on Sunday to see Smashcast students create their own video and learn more about what they are doing.
