POLISH DELIGHT: 380 public elementary schools in Poland have been selected to take the first steps out of the "epoki kredy," or chalk era, into the digital one as part of the country's newly approved $30 million "Digital Schools" program. Some more details (website in Polish but Google Translate does a good job): subsidization of hardware purchases; creation of digital textbook openly available via CC BY 3.0 license; training of an army of educators to get the ball rolling. The pilot runs from now until August 2013.
