OF MOOLES & MOOCS: Doug Holton of EdTechDev deftly ties criticisms of Khan, Coursera and Udacity to his finding that most MOOCs lack trained instructional design staff on the team, leading him to ask: are they merely "imposing an existing worldview (traditional instruction, courses, and instructors) on a new medium for learning?" Doug proposes moving away from the course-based rubric for measuring learning and towards a MOOLE--"massive online open learning experience"--along the likes of Wikipedia and Linux communities.
