Legos with Style Aim to Spur STEM Interests in Girls: GoldieBlox is a toy company started by Stanford engineering grad, Debra Sterling. The company's mission is to increase girls' interest in engineering and related fields, much in the way that Legos and Erector sets have inspired generations of boys. Check out her interview on TechCrunch TV and donate here to support her cause! Play Video Games to Make Games: Brainworth is looking to create a game experience that teaches users to create HTML5 games. The available demos have a feel that's somewhere between CodeHero and Gamestar Mechanic. It seems a bit ambitious but the project is supported by stellar beta user and creators from the likes of Harvard, Stanford, CalTech, Berkeley, UT Austin, and Carnegie Mellon. We'll stay tuned.
