A BADGEY DAY: Last week, Mozilla officially announced its Open Badges Project. For all techies, this means the documentation and beta API to start building these badges are now available. This coincides with a joint announcement by the MacArthur Foundation, HASTAC, and Mozilla for a $2 million Digital Media and Learning Competition for folks to create and test badges and badge systems. Not everyone is a fan: sometimes people game the system and win badges without learning! We are shocked, shocked, shocked. Okay, not really.
