MEDIACORE: $1 million to London, UK-based MediaCore from Alex Khein, Pierre Andurand, and other angels in the U.S. and U.K., bringing the startup's funding to $1.5 million. Originally focused on creating a private YouTube-like service for the business and enterprise space, the company is pivoting slightly to tackle the K-12 education space. On this front, the company has partnered with SchoolTube, an online video sharing platform where students and teachers share and showcase multimedia content. In addition, Apple's former head of higher education in Europe and Asia, Alan Greenberg, joins the MediaCore team as its Director of Education. More details in TechCrunch.
