Language-learning service Duolingo raises $15M Series B round

DUOLINGO: $15 million to Pittsburgh, PA-based Duolingo in Series B round led by New Enterprise Associates, with existing investor Union Square Ventures, Ashton Kutcher's A Grade Investments and Tim Ferriss also participating. Founded by Luis von Ahn (who also founded reCaptcha), Duolingo provides free service for folks looking to learn new languages, who in return translate online texts for businesses and others. "...we motivate them for free by teaching them language at the same time that they translate text. It kills two birds with one stone," says von Ahn in Forbes. More details there.
