Ed-Fi Flies: Rich streams of data may seem great--until you realize that you have incompatible streams of data. So, Michael Dell to the rescue! On Tuesday, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation released a proposed "Ed-Fi" data standard aimed at helping get data systems to play nice. This is hard stuff. Five years, $150 million and a lot of advice have been poured into this proposal. (Here's your chance: The standard is open for comment until August 31.) Five states (Colo., Del., La., Tenn., Tex.) say they'll use it. The proposed standard aims to help existing data systems work together rather than to replace them. EdSurge would like to hear from developers about whether they feel this proposal will be compatible with their existing--or planned--data dashboards.
