HubEdu: Acquired by San Mateo, CA-based Rafter, for an undisclosed amount. HubEdu, a four-man operation out of San Diego, CA, provides schools with textbook distribution, pricing, purchasing, and inventory information to assist them with the overall adoption process. The team will pack its bag for the short trip north to join Rafter and integrate its services. Rafter is the parent company of textbook rental service, BookRenter, a platform currently used by over 500 college bookstores to help make textbooks more affordable for students.
