One indication: "gamification" made the American Oxford Press dictionary's shortlist for the Word of the Year 2011, along with the likes of "Tiger Mother," and "fracking." Perhaps Dr. Buchem is a fan of SimCity creator Will Wright's next big project, HiveMind, which according to VentureBeat sounds as if he's trying to make Jesse Schell's omen come true: the gamification of your life.
