Edutainment startup Kidaptive plants a big seed round

KIDAPTIVE: "Large," "oversubscribed," but undisclosed seed round to Kidaptive from Menlo Ventures (which led the round), CrunchFund, Veddis Ventures, and a host of others. Based in the SF Bay Area, Kidaptive's team hails from backgrounds that include children's media and entertainment and a Stanford Ph.D in learning sciences and technology. The company has so far produced one app, Leo's Pad, that targets preschool-aged children, and plans to expand its offerings to the early learning market for kids ages 3 to 11.
