Mapping the Common Core: Here's a cool project that tries to translate the English language Common Core standards into specific lessons and activities: the Common Core Curriculum Maps project. The first edition map is free; you have to subscribe (around $20/year, less for teachers) for updates. The second version just came out this week. MasteryConnect is making great use of the Common Core, too, with its free iPod app (22K downloads), mapping to Khan Academy videos, and now a call to teachers to share the assessments that they're using. Bottom-line for edtech startups: If you plan on selling to teachers or schools, you've gotta be fluent in Common Core.
