ClassDojo Raises $1.6 million in seed funding

Aug 17, 2012

CLASSDOJO: $1.6 million in seed funding to SF-based ClassDojo from numerous private investors, including individuals Paul Graham, Ron Conway, and Jeff Clavier, and Kapor Capital, Start Fund, General Catalyst, Morado Ventures, Lerer Ventures, NewSchools Ventures, and Learn Capital. (Whew!) The Imagine K12 graduate provides a gamified behavior management service to help students build positive learning behaviors such as persistence, creativity, curiosity, self-control and leadership. It's the "other half of education that is currently unaddressed by education technology," according to co-founder Sam Chaudhary. ClassDojo has been well-received even before its launch, nabbing the spotlight at last year's NBC Education Nation Innovation Challenge. More details from TechCrunch.
