Apollo Considers McGraw-Hill Bid

PRIVATE EQUITY'S (GROWING) EDUCATION INTEREST: Reuters reports that Apollo Global Management is in talks about acquiring McGraw-Hill Co. Other possible suitors for the textbook publisher reportedly include Cengage Learning Inc., and Bain Capital. Cengage's brands include Delmar, Gale, National Geographic Learning and others. Apollo Global Management is a private equity investment fund(entirely separate from the Apollo Group that owns the Apollo Education services group, along with Carnegie Learning, the University of Phoenix and a number of other school programs).
