LATER LESSONS: The American Federation of Teachers and British publisher TSL Education have joined forces in a $10 million project to create a portal where teachers can upload, share and rate educational content. The website, Sharemylesson.com, currently boasts over 200,000 K-12 Common Core-aligned resources (lesson plans, activities, games, flashcards, worksheets) which can be filtered by grade, subjects, and document formats. Sound a bit like BetterLesson or The Teaching Channel, or even Curriki? AFT may hope that observers will see this program as a sign that the union is more open to technology and innovation than its critics charge. Hey, it's never too late to learn.
