Aug 1, 2019

Conn Education, a St. Louis-based provider of educational materials and technology services for pre-K-12 classrooms, has bought Novel Units, a Bulverde, Texas-based provider of lesson plans and other K-12 materials for teaching reading. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Founded in 2010, Conn Education bought the service to expand its product suite for students and teachers, according to a statement Thursday. Conn is the parent company of book wholesaler Classroom Library Co., education consultancy Read-Ability and library management app Book Retriever.

Founded in 1987, Novel Units offers teacher guides and student packets. It was previously owned by ECS Learning Systems, a Bulverde, Texas-based publisher and distributor of teacher and student instructional materials.
