BabySparks, a Plantation, Fla.-based technology platform that supports play-based early learning, has raised a $2 million seed round led by Miami-based venture capital firm Ocean Azul Partners. Miami Angels, Kairos, Marstar Investments (Steven and Brian Finn), Lou Kreisberg and Steve Goodman also participated.
Founded in 2013, BabySparks claims to have over 3.5 million downloads in 180 countries, according to a statement Friday. It offers over 1,300 video-based activities and delivers caregivers eight to 10 activities to help development milestones based on the child’s age.
Other companies focused on early childhood to raise money recently include Roybi and Tinkergarten.
