Jul 15, 2019

HEAD IN THE CLOUDS: QA, a London-based provider of technical, business and leadership training and degrees, has purchased San Francisco-based Cloud Academy, a cloud computing training platform. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Founded in 1985, QA claims to have over 22 U.K. training centers, 500 certification courses and 1,500 instructor-led courses, according to a statement Wednesday. Subjects include Amazon Web Services, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. The company claims to have 285,000 learners a year.

Founded in 2013, Cloud Academy has worked with groups like Trivago, Transamerica and SAS to train thousands of workers on cloud computing.

Training professionals in cloud computing skills has attracted capital in recent years. In 2016, Google bought cloud technologies learning platform Qwiklabs. Earlier this year, cloud professionals training platform A Cloud Guru raised $33 million.
