Austin-Based Cloud Training Platform Raises $33 Million

ON CLOUD NINE: A Cloud Guru, the Austin, Texas-based provider of a training platform for cloud computing professionals, has raised $33 million in a growth equity round led by Summit Partners. AirTree Ventures and existing investor Elephant also participated.

Founded in 2015, A Cloud Guru plans to use the money toward expansion of its content library and hiring more instructors, engineers and other employees, according to a statement Monday. The company currently claims to have over 850,000 users across 186 countries. Corporate clients include Qualcomm, Dow Jones and Capital One DevExchange.

As part of the deal, Summit managing director Tom Jennings has joined Cloud Guru’s board of directors. Summit Partners previously bought RuffaloCODY for $252 million in 2013.
