ConceptOwl Raises $508K to Add More Science Video Courses to Platform

WHAT A HOOT: ConceptOwl, a Thiruvananthapuram, India-based provider of online video science courses, has raised 35 million rupees (about USD $508,000) in a round led by Ankit Somani of Indian Angel Network. Individuals KRS Jamwal and Mitesh Shah also participated. As part of the deal, Somani joins ConceptOwl’s board.

ConceptOwl will use the money toward boosting its product offerings and sales and marketing operations, according to VC Circle. Founded in 2016, ConceptOwl’s platform includes courses on force and pressure, atoms and molecules and digestion absorption. Pricing starts at 9,990 rupees (about USD $145).

Other India-based education technology companies to receive funding in recent years include Classplus, Unacademy, Byju’s and Vedantu.
