Indian Online Tutoring Startup Scores $11 Million in Series B Funds

TUTORING PAYS: Vedantu, a Bangalore, India-based startup that facilitates online tutoring sessions, has raised $11 million in a Series B round led by Omidyar Network. Previous investor Accel Partners also participated in this round.

Founded in 2014, Vedantu’s tutoring platform is currently focused on subjects for India’s grades K-12, including local standardized exams. It plans on expanding its content coverage to include the GMAT and GRE. The company’s service is available across 80 cities, and claims users from 36 countries, according to LiveMint. Vedantu had previously raised $5 million in its Series A round in 2015.
