PUBLISH OR PARTNER: Digital courseware provider Lumen Learning has raised nearly $5 million in a Series C funding round led by Follett, a textbook publisher. The deal was closed in late November.
Lumen Learning offers materials ranging from e-books to homework assignments, all using open education materials that are either free or low-cost for higher ed. The Portland, Ore.-based company partnered with Follett in 2017, which put an equity stake in the OER provider.
Lumen’s latest fundraise will be used to increase offerings and delivery of the company’s open educational materials, according to a press announcement.
