THE LONG STRAW: Strawbees, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based company that provides hands-on kits that teach coding, engineering and programming skills, has raised SEK 20 million (approximately US $2.2 million) from Swedish venture firm, Zenith Group.
Strawbees was launched in 2014 after a successful Kickstarter campaign. As part of its name suggest, the company offers kits featuring straws which can be connected to create robots and structures that can be programmed. The company has sold it skits to the Asia, European and U.S. markets, and is piloted in schools in South Korea, Thailand, Latin American and Africa. More details from the press release.
