Educational Games and Trivia Platform Kahoot Raises $17M

KA’CHING! Kahoot, a game-based learning platform, has closed on a $17 million funding round led by Datum Invest AS, Northzone, Creandum, Microsoft Ventures and company chairman Eilert Hanoa.

Based on Oslo, Norway, Kahoot claims its latest raise will go towards growing the company’s commercial services, which organizations and institutions purchase through a subscription-based model. (Basic versions of the trivia-style gaming platforming are also available for free for schools.)

Today Kahoot Claims to be used by more than 70 million active users, according to a company announcement. The latest financing round brings the company’s total raised to $43 million, Business Insider reports.
